Suzanne Perez Tobias from The Wichita Eagle list 10 baby-tested, mother-approved items that make life with baby sooooo much easier.

Take a stroll around Wichita's new Babies R Us, with its mind-boggling array of diapers, car seats, onesies and playpens, and you realize something:

Shopping for that perfect new baby gifts just got a lot harder.

September 13, 2006 09:31 - What the Baptism Gifts to Do with Your New Little One's Retirement?

What will you give as baptism gifts for a new baby?

Baptism gifts are especially difficult because the event is quite targeted. I found an article talking about that new parents should consider asking for a different kind of baby gift, and start a pension for their child.

The company of Virgin Money.which launched a stakeholder pension for children in October 2001 says a pension can allow contributions from as little as GBP 1 a month with parents, grandparents, family and friends able to contribute up to GBP 2808 each year and still have the pension qualify for basic rate tax relief.

Although many parents are currently helping older children to get on the property ladder, the company of Virgin Money predicts in the future more parents will want to help plan for their children's retirement as in the last year 10% of Virgin's stakeholder plans have been for children, with half of these for under 5"s..

Adrian Boulding, pensions strategy director at Legal & General, says he is a great fan of children's pensions as it is "all about starting them off down the right road", and if they already have a pension plan by the time they become adults the children are more likely to continue contributing to it.

So what is your decision right now?

Choice 1: Head over to a few innovative options for those who are shopping for just the right baptism gifts this year.

Choice 2: Read the A pension is 'better' than traditional christening gifts.

September 20, 2006 17:01 - Fab Find: A platter for all seasons

If you're planning a baby shower, birthday party or even a fall bash, consider one of the platters shown here.

They're called "interchangeable dinnerware" from the Nora Fleming collection. Nora Napientek and her partner, Jonathan Neidlinger, are a Chicago duo who created the concept of buying one large platter - round ($37.50) or rectangular ($40) - and outfitting it with a different ornament, depending on the occasion. A cake platter is also available with a pedestal ($60).

All three platters feature a spot for the interchangeable ornaments. A bright ceramic flower ($12.50) could be used for a girly get-together. Or change the ornament to an birthday cake ($12.50) and you're ready to celebrate. For Halloween, we spotted a cute spider ornament ($12.50). Other ornaments are also available.

The interchangeable ornaments and platters can be found online at www.norafleming.com.

September 24, 2006 11:28 - Hallowe'en Baby Costumes and Baby Shower Ideas

shark baby costumeEven though summer has barely ended, our family is starting to think about Halloween. I love the crispness of the fall air, the glowing light of impish pumpkins, the little mini Dairy Milk bars sitting by the door. I love the infectious excitement of the kids: the giddiness of the occasion makes me feel like an overgrown kid myself.

Last year, my sister didn't buy a costume for her daughter Danny - she was only a few months old. My brother and his wife put her on the table in her chair while they carved pumpkins, and that image, along with the smell of salt roasting on pumpkin seeds, is what I remember about last year.

But this year we found this site, with the cutest baby Halloween costumes I've ever seen. I know Danny is too young to trick or treat or enjoy the spooky toilet-paper ghosts hanging from the trees. But surely she is not too young to be a shark or an octopus. These costumes are so cute you will want one for yourself, except that would be a little creepy.

And I can't help put love themes baby showers, Rubber Ducky, Teddy Bear, Halloween -- you name it.

Here is the coolest baby shower ideas all perfectly fit into halloween theme. These spooky and sweet ideas can get family and friends together for a fond baby shower memory over the year. For a better browsing experience, I've cut the original article into two parts so you will quickly find what you like to read...
