Bye Bye Tummy, Hello Mommy!

Bye Bye Tummy, Hello Mommy!

Bye Bye Tummy, Hello Mommy!

I made a white 12 in. round cake for the base. Half a ball cake pan for the belly and two small half ball cake pan for the boobs. I used white store bought cake mixes made as called on the box. For the filling I made a vanilla mousse. (recipe to follow)

Base.- After the cake was cooled and filled I frosted it with the gray frosting and waited for the buttercream to "crust" so i could smooth it out with Viva paper towel to make it look seamless like fondant! Put it in the fridge to harden and to keep the mousse from melting.

MOUSSE RECIPE!
12oz. (one bag) any kind of chocolate or white chips
1 qt heavy cream
Instructions
Melt in bowl over hot water:

12oz. (one bag) any kind of chocolate or white chips

In saucepan, bring to boil
1 quart heavy cream

Whisk 1/3 of cream into chocolate until smooth. Slowly whisk in remaining cream. Refrigerat overnight or freeze for a few hours.

Whip until stiff.

Yields: 4 3/4 cups of filling when whipped.

Belly.- First I cut a board for the belly to sit on. I place straws in the base cake where the belly is going to sit so when I put the fondant on it doesn't sink into the base cake. I then put the belly on the base cake and frost it.

Boobs.- I place the boobs on where they go and frost them flesh tone incase i wanted to have a little bit of cleavage! I then let that frosting "crust" so I can press it the same as the base!

Details.- I start now by rolling out white marshmallow fondant (recipe to follow) so i can cut the shape of the shirt and place it over the body and smooth it out! I color some fondant purple and make the strap and bow and place it on the shirt, I also make grey fondant then cut out the letters and daisies with cookie cutters!

MARSHMALLOW FONDANT
1 lb. mini marshmallows (not the regular ones, they just don?t melt the same)
1 kg. icing sugar
1/2 cup all vegetable shortening
2 tbsp. water
Instructions
Put marshmallows and water in a glass bowl and microwave on high for 30 seconds. Stir and go for another 30 seconds. Repeat until all the marshmallows are melted (about 2 ? 2 1/2 minutes).
Stir in about 1/4 of the bag of icing sugar to make a dough like consistency
Coat the table you?re working on with most of the shortening and use the rest to coat your hands front and back really well.
Sift some icing sugar over the shortening and turn out the ?dough? onto it.
Knead as though it were bread, adding sifted icing sugar all the while until you reach a fondant-like consistency (this will usually take just over 3/4 of the bag of icing sugar, depending on humidity).
Once you are done, coat it in shortening and wrap in plastic tightly and put in a sealed bag to rest for at least 30 minutes, prefereably overnight.
When you?re ready to use it, put it in the microwave in 10 second increments until it?s soft enough to work with.
*Tip: If you?re coloring it all the same color, put the color in with the marshmallows in the microwave ? this makes it easier to mix in*

Finishing touches!- Once you have the letters on the base cake place the daisies around where they look best and your finished!!
